One and the most enjoyable way to experience the nature of Bali is backpacking. That’s way Bali is a place (and the only place in Indonesia) where a lot of South East Asia backpackers find themselves. But backpacking in Bali is not as easy as you think, lot of things should be prepared. The main point about backpacking is how you spend your travel budget wisely, not only at Bali but also the same for other destinations.
The first thing on you Bali backpacking plan list should be the accommodation. Poppies I and Poppies II near the Kuta are the best choices for cheap accommodation, as you just need to pay for around Rp. 70.000 for one night per two persons – at low season. As this place is near the Kuta, you could save for the transportation also. Check several hostels before deciding one suits you.
The next is transportation. There are so many places to go in Bali, like Ubud, Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Kintamani, Bedugul, Lovina Beach, Sanur, Jimbaran, and so on. Asking your guesthouse reception on how to go and the cost is a bad idea. They will double the price! Remember there are may backpackers there. So ask them. They will give you a better advice than you can get from other sources. But just for your reference, you can hire a motorbike, car or using public bus. if you just arrived in Bali and don’t know much about the road, you better choose public bus.
One of the famous thing in Bali is the nightlife – drinking and partying. Drinking is Bali can be cheap, but also can make your trip ends faster. Remember this advice: always try to make friends where ever you go. They can tell you where to find special offers, drinking and partying whilst watching live Premiership football on a giant screen.
The last but the most important thing to remember about backpacking in Bali is Visa and Passport. Don’t just enjoy the excitement thinking about your backpacking things but forget these two most important things. Happy Bali Backpacking!
