Nepal’s weather is divided into four. That’s is spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The temperature in spring (March to May) is generally warm with small differences between the highlands and the low lands. The visibility is not as good as the autumn but it is the season where you can find the national flower of Nepal – wonderful rhododendrons.

The autumn (September to November) probably is the most visited time among the other seasons. The weather in autumn is amazingly pleasant. With the just finished monsoon, the views is good and it is the best time to admire the incredible Himalayan. There is a local festival held annually in October, it is called Dasain festival. This festival is very important to the local citizens and also very enjoyable. October is the highly visited by foreigners.
The winter (December to February) is cool with some snowfalls in the higher lands. In December and January, it can be very cold at higher altitudes, but generally the climate is still good. February also marks the end of the dry season, which makes it another best time to visit Nepal. Many travelers do trekking in lower elevation.
The monsoon season is takes place between June to September which 80% of Nepal’s annual rainfall happens during this period of time. The rest of the months is generally dry and are the best time to visit Nepal. May and June is not recommended. It is quite hot (often above 30°C) and the road is dusty.
Some general tips for your clothing:
If you visit Nepal during the monsoon (June to September), don’t forget to bring an umbrella. Lightweight clothes should be enough during this time. During October until March, coat and warm clothing will be necessary. At the higher altitude, sometimes the temperature can reach minus degree Celsius, so be prepare.
