The market complex is divided into two, namely “inner market” (“jonai Shijo”) and “outside markets” (“jogai Shijo”). Inner market is the place where the fish auction takes place. There are about 900 licensed traders, who opened a small kiosk. While the outside market is a combination of market traders who sell kitchen tools, restaurant stuff, grocery, and sushi restaurants. Tsukiji Fish Inner Market do not operate until the afternoon, while outside markets are generally open till evening. Local government statistics say that every day thousands of travelers willing to get up very early and hurried “enjoy” Tsukiji Market only to find the sensation of activity in this fish market.
