However, the weather pattern is differ a lot between the regions due to the country’s large north-south extension. Spring (March-May) Many events related to the interest held throughout the country. For example Ume Matsuri (PlumBlossom Festival) and Cherry Blossom Viewing. School spring break in Japan usually starts mid-March and continues until school starts in the first week of April. Domestic travel activity will be a little busy during the second half of March due to this spring school holidays. While in April, Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom in most parts of Japan and the weather is pleasantly mild. Golden Week occurs from late April to first week of May. All travel related business like transportation, accommodations, and tourist attraction are very busy during this time. Summer (June-August) The rainy season in Japan usually starts in early May in Okinawa. But in other areas, it runs from early of June until about mid of July. Average temperature in Sri Lanka fluctuates between 27° and 29° Celsius. As everywhere, sea-winds exert a moderating influence. Temperatures in the central mountain region are lower than normal.
